In order for Waste Management to maintain its focus on municipal solid waste collection and disposal, and due to the reduced number of employees in the field, effective Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Waste Management is temporarily suspending the performance of the following services, which are non-essential during this period of emergency:
• Bulk Collection – furniture, carpet, mattresses, appliances, etc.
• Spring and bulk clean-ups
• Yard Waste Collection – grass clippings, brush, tree limbs, etc.

There have been a lot of issues with Recycling, and what can and can’t be put in your recycling bin each week. Here is a list of the items that can be recycled in our community (updated 3/2020):
- Cardboard (No pizza boxes)
- Steel/Aluminum Cans
- #1 & #2 Plastics, now including #4 – #7
If the item you want to recycle isn’t listed above (in bold), it can’t be recycled in our community at this time. With many people wanting to recycle Styrofoam, plastic bags and hangers, etc. they are placing these items in their recycling bins and it causes the cost of recycling to go up.
If these items go in the recyling bin, someone either has to sort through the material at the recycle center to sift it out (which causes the costs to recycle to increase) or the entire collection will be thrown out and wasting the whole batch of recycled material.
With the cost of recycling increasing every year, let’s do our part to help keep costs down.
